We Connect You
Maria Shriver’s WE Connect campaign is a pioneering public/private partnership designed to help California’s working families become more financially secure by connecting them to important programs and resources, like Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). http://www.weconnect.net/.
Disability Benefits 101
Disability Benefits 101 (DB101) helps workers, job seekers, and service providers understand the connections between work and benefits. The DB101 attitude is that the disability experience is unique for each individual, and that benefit programs can affect that experience in different ways at different times. http://disabilitybenefits101.org/.
Social Security Administration (SSA)
The SSA website can help you apply for benefits, determine whether you qualify for benefits, estimate your future benefits, manage your current account information, choose/change your password or block electronic access to your personal information, see (and change) the contact, direct deposit, Medicare and payment information they have on file for you. http://www.ssa.gov/.
SSDI vs. SSI, Medicare vs. Medicaid: Which is Which? What's the Difference?
The Social Security Administration (SSA) runs two separate income programs for disabled people - Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSA also determines eligibility for the federal Medicare program for disabled and aged Social Security recipients, and tells states and localities who is on SSI so that they can be given Medicaid cards. States and localities determine Medicaid eligibility for everyone who is not on SSI, and run the rest of their Medicaid programs with federal financial help. http://www.harp.org/fed-primer.htm.
