CAYEN - California Youth Empowerment Network

Meet Our Officers

Chair:

Kamila Baker is the 22 year old chair of California Youth Empowerment Network. She is also a Youth Advocate for Turning Point Community Programs, and active in many county and state-level forums where she represents the youth voice and perspective. After going through mental health services herself, and not always feeling like her voice was heard, Kamila's goal is to make sure that other young adults have a voice and, that their voice is listened to.

Vice Chair:

Natalie Gregory is a 20 year old young adult who finds the voice of all youth essential for true growth through systems; CAYEN has been a place that she easily became rooted. She has been a Peer Mentor for Glenn County Health Services for 4 years, and works at the Transition Age Youth Center, developing and implementing programs. Natalie is a member of the Cultural and Linguistic Competence Committee for the Oversight and Accountability Commission, and hopes to bring youth cultural awareness, and voice to the table. She is a Youth MOVE (Motivating Others Through Voices of Experience) National Board Member. In her short time being a part of the youth movement, she has seen youth empower each other, and others, through passion and support; both things in which she continues to do each day. She strongly believes that a true partnership between youth and adults can be achieved through understanding and equality.

Secretary:

Asencion Olea (Cici) is a 23 year old who has called Oxnard home all her life. Cici is currently a student at Oxnard College, studying addictive disorders, as well as a member of Ventura County Behavioral Health Mental Health Board, Children's Mental Health Sub-Committee, The Partnership, and the Oxnard Alliance for Community Strength. Cici is a highly involved Transition Age Youth (TAY) who has dedicated her career to improving the journey of TAY and youth through the mental health system.
